You may notice that the surface of the blade is smeared with oil. This is done to maintain the blade by forming an oil film on the surface to prevent oxidation and rust. You can remove the lubricating oil if needed.

We have improved the packaging to include a simple knife holder based on customer feedback. The black katana sword made of 1060 high carbon steel and features a baked black blade and scabbard. The handle is made of solid wood and the blade is held in place by bamboo pegs and copper blades clamped to a black cutout disc.
